Choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon and composed by Joby Talbot, The Winter’s Tale is a contemporary balletic reimagining of a perhaps under-enjoyed Shakespearean romance—a moving fable of jealousy, unrequited love, statues come to life, and (how could one forget?) at least one Bohemian bear.
With thanks to the Royal Ballet, the library are delighted to be able to offer a free screening of this production, vibrantly designed by Bob Crowley (scenery and wardrobe) and Natasha Katz (lighting).
A brief “pre-ballet chat” will begin at 5:45pm, preceding the 6:00pm screening; the ballet itself runs for 112 minutes.
